The Children’s Advocacy Center of SW Florida (CAC) is a busy non-profit agency located in Fort Myers serving Lee, Charlotte, Hendry and Glades Counties. At CAC, we offer abuse determination services for children as well as therapeutic counseling, parenting education and prevention programs.

 

CAC is seeking a qualified candidate for a full-time Case Coordinator Position.  This position conducts clinical and forensic assessment activities and coordinates services for children and their families. Individual must work as part of a multidisciplinary team evaluating cases of alleged child maltreatment. Individual will collaborate with law enforcement agencies as well as the legal, medical, mental health and social service communities by performing the following duties.

 

General Responsibilities (full job description will be provided upon interview): 

  • Specialized clinical and forensic interview of children.
  • Interview family members and significant others as needed to completed psychosocial assessment.
  • Gather information relating to family history and risk factors and generate recommendations.
  • Complete assessments of children and compile accurate, comprehensive, grammatically correct reports. Forward reports to necessary parties upon completion, but not later than within the time frames consistent with program requirements and best practice.  
  • Coordinate client services and referrals within community.
  • Arrange for and conduct multidisciplinary staffing’s and participate in the development of the professional recommendations for treatment and ongoing services.
  • Make recommendations for treatment plans to address risk factors, therapy needs, skills training, or the need for further evaluation. Recommendations may also address issues related to removal, placement, and family supervision.
  • Provide depositions and court testimony.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, up-to-day client records.
  • Conduct training within the community for professional staff and others as designed by the program director

 

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or other Human Service degree or is acceptable. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years post baccalaureate experience working with children and their families. One year of that experience involving work with abused or neglected children.
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must have a valid driver license
  • Must be able to respond to emergency calls at all hours, when on call
  • Must be able to attend out of town trainings and conferences
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
