Job Summary

The Senior Accountant position requires solid accounting experience combined with strong analytical and decision making skills. The ideal candidate will possess a dedicated work ethic and sound organizational skills along with the ability to work with well others. This position supports various aspects of the financial close cycle for multiple clients, including non-profits, government contractors, construction companies, and other for profit companies.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records and financial statements for multiple clients.
  • Manage daily and monthly accounting activities – entering payables, preparing journal entries, and reconciling accounts into QBO, Bill.com, Builder Trend, Asana, and Canopy
  • Month end processing: review and prepare balance sheet and bank reconciliations, maintenance of fixed assets, and analysis of profit and loss statements.
  • Oversee and review accounting work of staff – reviewing financial statements and financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare payroll via ADP Run – ensuring timesheets are entered into EZ Labor, reviewing timesheets for errors, running reports, preparing monthly entries, and assisting clients with any issues.
  • Assist clients with annual audits through preparation of audit schedules and documentation and responding to auditor queries.
  • Manage and train staff for various accounting tasks – payroll process, preparing checks, etc.
  • Establish and maintain close relationships with clients.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required; Master’s degree in Accounting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and the financial statement close process is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and meet firm deadlines.
  • Excellent mathematical and computational skills.
  • Ability to apply strong problem solving techniques.
  • Experienced and skilled in ledger account reconciliations and Quick Books accounting systems

 

Working conditions

Fast paced working environment, which may often require ongoing interaction with challenging clients.
